Have you, often, felt the need to pen down your thoughts? Believe me, you’re no dissimilar. I felt the exact same way. I desperately wanted to start my blog. Candidly, I lost the count of how many a time I would distract my head from such sentiments or feelings so as to be able to concentrate on my work.
The reasons were simple enough. As to almost everyone, a blogging to me would also mean just a hobby or fad that couldn’t survive long. It was no means to make money. There was no substitute for a full-time job. As others would point out, Blogging is a joke. Most recent comments on the profession of Blogging are “Blogging is Wakhra Swag (Distinct Swagger)”.
Disheartened, I warned myself to focus on the important things in life. Merely, the dreams must not pass easily. There is a purpose in everyone’s life. Mine is no different from yours. Is it to follow your passion? Yes. Very well, could be.
I can say it, with utmost conviction, that all of us want to die having lived our passions. Only if the courage and strength would come so easy, sigh!
While I slogged to earn my bread and butter, I kept following the blogs of my friends. And, I knew it was the time to blog when I quit my work due to maternity reasons.
Soon after, I launched a blog that was a complete failure. It didn’t take me long enough to take it offline. And, it completely sucked.
I never thought of getting back to blogging again. The process of starting my own blog, however, instilled a great deal of knowledge in me. I was learning a lot.
While I was looking for work-from-home jobs, I kept doing some paid blog posts. I knew, I just couldn’t afford to repeat the mistakes. Life won’t give me a second chance, here. Isn’t it same with you? Before someone could laugh off at my obsession with blogging, I made enough money out of blog-posts. Do you really think I would lie to you? Never!
The snapshot of my portfolio will make you believe that I earned money (a lot of money!) blogging.
Having earned just enough money and reinstated the lost belief in the self-hosted blog, it was time to embark on a new journey.
After all, I knew the answers as to “Why you must blog” by now. The reasons were no different for me as they would be for you. I have listed a few of them here:
- To work from the comfort of my couch
- Fix the number of working hours at my will
- Flexible schedule
- Make money online
- Travel ( Besides blogging, my another passion)
And finally, spread happiness.
Well, Ok. I know you doubt me on this one. If I were you, I would do the same. Never mind!
But just believe me, Blogging is one of the very few professions that give you the liberty to spread happiness, joy and a lot of positivity amongst your followers. As a blogger, you give them abundant reasons to dream. They start believing in the power of words and a lot more. And, that makes you even more responsible as an individual. You just can’t falter.
If you are with me till now, I know you can’t wait to Blog. Perfect!
However, as they say, “Half knowledge can be dangerous”. So just don’t jump into the Blogosphere without equipping yourself with all the necessary knowledge and tools. As otherwise, you might just end ruining it. You must remember that it’s not to scare you, but to warn you.
