If you’re not a first time visitor to this blog, you would already know that I am a full-time Blogger. Besides blogging, I offer social media marketing and promotional content writing services. I say it quite, often, that work is my passion. There is no denying the fact that I love my work and it’s only my passion that makes it possible for me to work on multiple projects at a given time. But there is more to what I have written and spoken about.
There are nights I am off to bed at 11:00 PM but I don’t sleep until 3 AM. Why? It is because there are things on my mind. Then, there are days when I wish to go out for a coffee (Yes, I love coffee!) but there are looming deadlines. But that’s the case with almost every professional out there.
Then, what is it that makes me write this post?
Flair for Words
Given that I am a blogger, it goes without saying that I have a flair for words. Most of you think that because I am into blogging, words must be coming naturally to me all the time. Believe me, they don’t. There are times when my mind goes completely blank and I struggle to find right words as much as any of you would do. At times, my mind gets saturated to a level that I find it difficult to write just another sentence.
It’s not as easy and as glamorous, as you might perceive, to maintain the consistency of posts on this blog. In case you didn’t know, my major earnings come from writings and services that are offered outside of this blog. But this blog has to be maintained because it acts as a platform for me to showcase my skills. Beyond that, this blog is my inspiration. I have built it from scratch and nurtured it with love and hard work. I have waited every single day in last one year for it to grow.
Craving for Feedback
This Blog has about 100 posts published by now. What do you think is the process involved in making one post go live?
Think of an idea, create compelling content, publish it live and share it across social media- Is that all?
I have already talked a couple of things about idea generation in previous posts. How much time it takes to perceive one compelling idea and why is writer’s block so common?
Then, what is it that you don’t know?
After writing 200+ posts on different platforms, I still crave for honest feedback. Even today, I get anxious whenever a post has to get published.
Multiple thoughts cross my mind in a fraction of the second:
“How many views will this post manage?
Will there be any positive comments?
What if the readers don’t enjoy reading it?”
That’s not all about it. I check the analytics almost every 15 minutes (I am not exaggerating!) to see the engagement of readers. There are a bunch of my readers who are distinguished personalities in their own fields. Luckily, I have managed to win their loyalty as readers to my blog. Quite often, they appreciate my work but there are posts on which there are mixed reactions. It might be hard for you to believe but I still get disappointed on getting any sort of negative feedback. Believe me, it’s not easy to glue to your smart phone all the time to gaze the reactions of your readers and ensure them a quick reply.

Work-from-home
The best thing about my work is that it allows me to work-from-home. Even, my team members work remotely for me. I get to stay around my daughter all the time. There is no need to commute to the office. With all these benefits, there also comes a series of disadvantages. Because there is no dedicated office, it is extremely hard to focus at times. With multiple things to be taken care of at home, your maximum output is 4-5 hours a day and that, too, on days that are highly productive. By working-from-home, you are prone to distractions all the time. Under any given circumstances, you’re required to coordinate with your team members and do multiple work related tasks. At the end of the day, you’re in a position where you managed to perform every other task except writing.
Isn’t it that writing is supposed to be the primary task of a Blogger?
But, a blogger needs a conducive writing environment for his/ her work.
To get into a writer’s groove or to find that environment is as much a daunting tasking for me as it would be for anyone who is not a writer.
P.S. I had to think multiple times before finalizing the draft of this post because there was a feeling that readers might just find the topic meaningless. Because I found its relevance and significance in my life, I just decided to go ahead with it.
