Many would agree that travel is a trend these days and everyone out there is waiting to go on that dream vacation. While some yearn for solo travel, others can’t wait to experience group travel.
Having already traveled in groups a number of times, co-traveling with 55 young and dynamic women of my city to Goa (FICCI-FLO Ludhiana Chapter’s Annual Retreat) was a breakaway trip for me and completely a different experience with a lifetime of memories.
There was a lot to do, learn and share. It was not just the beauty of the place but the presence of strong, independent women who loved being there for each other that made all the difference. As they say, travel is important because it fundamentally transforms you and reinforces your willingness to expand your horizons, to get unstuck and to move in new directions.
Now, if you feel even a bit motivated to plan your next trip soon and in case that’s going to be a Goan holiday, you’re going to find the following list of to-do’s quite handy:
If you’re in Goa and happen to be a gastronomic person like me, you simply can’t resist the amazing multi-cuisine food you get in this place.
I definitely suggest trying the following restaurants in North Goa at least once:
1. Wok and Roll, Aguada Fort Area, Sinquerim
It’s your go-to place if you are craving Thai and Chinese food. The complimentary Thai starters served at this place are amazing and believe me there is going to be no disappointment with their mouth-watering food and that too, offered at a very reasonable price.
2. Pousada by the Beach, Calangute
My all-time favorite place- this natural, rustic and beachfront restaurant serves the best cocktails and yummy food. It’s a perfect place to laze around and indulge in light conversations. Not to be missed is their luscious sevapuri.
3. Olive Bar and Kitchen, Vagator
It’s a definite must-visit place in North Goa. Located right at the Vagator beach on a cliff, it gives a breathtaking view of the ocean. Even though everything on their menu is tempting (quite different and much cheaper than Delhi Olive’s menu), you can’t miss their heavenly snickers dessert. They serve the best cappuccino (their presentation certainly adds to the flavor) and their signature watermelon based cocktail is full of flavor.
4. IL Camino, Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa, Candolim
If Italian is what you want, this is the place. Wondering why the name IL Camino? It means the Chimney in Italian. You get the best Italian food, desserts and an easy flowing feel. The rustic charm, warm hospitality and appetizing food would definitely want you to go back there.
5. Antares, Vagator
Besides food, one thing you can’t miss when in Goa is indulging yourself into some adventurous activities. Although the water sports are closed for a season (monsoons), you can rent a bike or Thar (SUV) and give your energy a buzz while enjoying the amazing weather at the same time.
Bike– Rs 300 to Rs 500 per day (depending on the choice of a bike)
Thar– Rs. 3000 per day
Finally, it’s always good to travel, be adventurous and experience new things because every experience presents an opportunity to learn and grow.
